I’m also excited for the book to come out and ever since I read an interview, that I can’t find now (because I read it on paper so couldn’t tag it with delicious), about a woman social marketer who just came to the US to a NY-based organization leveraging social marketing to help with AIDs awareness and intervention, I’ve been intrigued by the immense power in social marketing. Thanks again for your great thoughts! I’m glad to hear your enthusiasm and hope and look forward to future conversations!

When I went to write the post for Blog Action Day on poverty, I was struck by similiar thoughts. Where do we even begin? and thus, I began with the term. I think we all have different ideas of what poverty is, different perceptions of what it means and different ideas in mind about how to go about tackling it. As my post continued, I am excited for Philip Kotler and Nancy Lee’s book to come out that applies social marketing (behavior change) to the issue of poverty. When I saw Kotler speak, he really did a great job of framing the issue beyond my already pre-conceived assumptions, while reflecting on past strategies and outline future developments.
Look forward to staying connected, 😉
